The Elephant and Castle fulfils an ambition to serve a fabulous choice of amazing home cooked meals in our home village.
The Pub dates back to the 17th century when it was a coaching Inn. Over the years it has had many alterations and refurbishments. In our latest refurbishment, just a few months ago, we left the actual layout the same but we now have a well established bar area as well as a well equipped dining area. The heavy furniture sits on extremely lush carpeting giving the pub a very plush and up market feel to it.

THE ELEPHANT ON TV
The Elephant & Castle will soon be seen on a Channel 5 documentary that follows the lives of two Barnsley teenagers who were severely injured at Alton Towers in 2016.
The Channel 5 production, yet to be named, features interviews with the teenagers in the Elephant & Castle. Channel 5 selected the venue after browsing through various Barnsley pub and restaurant web sites and deciding the Elephant's looked perfect. High praise indeed for our new site! The documentary will be shown later in the year - we'll let you know when it's due to be aired.
